Krista Jones
Hall of Fame Honoree Krista Jones attended Del City High School from 1971-1974. She attended the University of Oklahoma from 1974-1977, where she was on the Cypress Garden's All American Cheer Squad representing the Big 8 1976. She graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1977 and was accepted into the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Ms. Jones received her DDS Degree in 1981 from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. She has received numerous honors and awards including the past President of the OU College of Dentistry Alumni Association, OU College of Dentistry Alumni Association Outstanding Alumni 2010, J. Dean Robertson Society Charter Fellow and member at the Diamond Level, Speaker of the House of Delegates, Thomas Jefferson Award, as Chair of the Mediation Review Committee, ODA Golden Apple Award on Ethics and Professionalism, Western Regional Examining Board Member, American College of Dentists Fellow, Oklahoma Section Chair and Geis Fellow, International College of Dentists Fellow and Outstanding Dentist of the Year 2008, Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow and Dentist of the Year 2009, and many other honors and activities.
Ms. Jones has participated in OUHSC Christian Medical Dental Society Mission trips with students to Bolivia and Peru. She is very active in her community and is a member of the Governor of Oklahoma's Task Force on Children and Oral Health, Health Care Information Advisory Council, Edmond Hall of Fame 2010, Rotary Club of Edmond George Mikesell Award Winner - Rotarian of the Year 2010, Leadership Edmond Alumni, Edmond Medical Center Board of Trustees, Edmond Women's Club Charter Member, Fine Arts Institute of Edmond Board of Directors, and many, many other organizations. She has been a private dentist for 29 years, with an office in Edmond.
Derral Howard
Hall of Fame Honoree Darrel Howard attended Del City High School from 1967-1970. He enlisted in the Army Security Agency as a Morse Code Intercept Operator, serving served 28 years at Military Intelligence Posts in the United States and Overseas. During his military service, he received numerous awards including the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin, Germany), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Mr. Howard received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree in 1994 from the University of Oklahoma. He has been active in softball and volleyball throughout his career and was selected for the All-Army Volleyball Team Tryouts in 1979. He is actively involved in youth sports, spending countless off-duty hours coaching T-ball, softball, baseball, basketball and flag football teams. While stationed at Ft. Hood, he was Commissioner for Youth Bowling and also served as a youth bowling coach. He is currently active in Sunnylane Family Church where he, among other things, drives the van that picks up young people for church and activities. Mr. Howard now lives in Del City in the home where he grew up.
2010 Inductees
The 2010 inductees include: Michael Fouts, Class of 1967; Derral Howard, Class of 1970; and Krista Jones, Class of 1974.
Michael Fouts
Hall of Fame Honoree Michael Fouts attended Del City High School from 1965-1967. Mr. Fouts served 32 years in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his military service, he received numerous honors and awards for his service in Vietnam, Bosnia and Saudi Arabia. He received his Bachelor of Science from the United States Air Force Academy in 1971. He received a Master of Arts from Central Michigan University in 1975. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1979.
Mr. Fouts is currently a Municipal Prosecutor for the City of Oklahoma City and is admitted to practice in the U.S. Federal Court of Military Appeals, the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Oklahoma. Mr. Fouts is actively involved in the community and various organizations such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, United Methodist Church Food Pantry, Church Parish Council, Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club, Jaycees, Catholic School Board, India Shrine, York Rite Lodge 532, Officer Club Board, National Guard Association and Community Aid/Military Support Group.
